Ahead of the release of his new self-entitled LP, Yungblud has dropped his latest single “Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today”. The new track is the first single taken from the singer’s upcoming third studio album, the newly released song is also the third single to be released by YungBlud this year. Prior to the track’s official drop, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter shared a cryptic post via social media featuring lyrics to foreshadow its release.
The Doncaster born artist gave a statement concerning the new single in a press release, “To me, this song is what happiness feels like. A defiant sort of happiness. Looking at yourself in the mirror and telling the sadness to f*** off and come back another day. I wanted this song to be a little part of someone’s day. No matter what they’re going through, they can put this on and feel a bit stronger today. That’s the vision; that’s the dream.”
Alongside its release, the single was also accompanied by a uniquely produced music video which shows the singer performing to a roaring crowd. Filmed at London’s Southbank, the video rapidly swaps between shots of Yungblud’s performance and of the singer’s enthusiastically screaming fans. The fan-featured video’s production commenced last week but was shut down by the police, a promo shared by the singer shows a behind the scenes for the video and proudly showcases the subsequent aftermath.
Otherwise known as Dominic Richard Harrison, the talented artist first found the spotlight with a career in acting. After graduated from London’s Arts Education School he landed roles in The Lodge and Emmerdale. After the release of his first self-titled EP In 2018, Yungblud first gained traction within the music industry. The release included five singles including the track “Tin Pan Boy”, written about the historical musical landmark located in London. The singer obtained further notary in 2018 after the release of his debut album 21st Century Liability, due to his soaring popularity the singer was nominated for four NME awards and won the 2019 award for Best Music Video.
Set to be released on 2nd September 2022, the singer’s upcoming new album will follow his previously released album Weird!. Released on 4th December 2020 via Locomotion and Interscope Records the album was originally scheduled to release on 13th November but it was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The singer’s sophomore album peaked at number one within the UK album charts and sired six singles, including “Cotton Candy”, “Mars” and “Acting Like That”.
The singer is currently on tour in Europe and is set to next perform at the French event Main Square Festival on 30th June 2022, the “Patience” hitmaker’s European festival season includes five more events. On 14th July 2022, the singer will return to the UK for a set at London’s Rough Trade East. After the show, the singer is set to embark on the Australian and New Zealand leg of his Live On Mars Tour.
