Yungblud announced on his social media yesterday that his ‘Occupy the UK’ tour will yet again be postponed due to concerns over Covid-19, and the safety of the artist, crew and fans.
The British singer-songwriter was scheduled to tour England and Scotland at the beginning of May 2020 which was pushed back to May of 2021 because of the onset of Covid-19. Yesterday the artist announced that his shows in May and June of 2021 were put on hold once again and postponed over safety concerns of everybody involved.
The artist was scheduled to play a five-night-residency at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London in March of 2021, which has now been called off once again, alongside the shows in Barrowland, Glasgow and Rock city, Nottingham. Yungblud wrote on his social media page that future dates for his show will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
At the time of the postponement of the ‘Occupy the UK’ tour in 2020, Yungblud had said on twitter, “The UK tour is being moved,” he said, sharing a video of himself making the announcement on Twitter. “I’ve tried my best to try come up with an innovative way of keepin’ them on but everyone’s safety is most important. I’m sorry. There is a plan in place though, they WILL be happenin’. Hold on to your tix and imma post more info soon! ily (link/bio)”
Speaking of the postponement the second time around, in a video posted on the artist’s twitter page, Yungblud said, “As some of you have guessed, the Occupy the UK tour is going to be rescheduled because of the state of the world right now, hold on to your tickets, this is something to look forward to. I am feeling so down that I can’t be with you all now, but I’m looking forward to when we can be together, it is gonna be absolutely mental”. Yungblud further said to his fans to “hold that energy, let it rattle like a pan and when we’re together that lid is just gonna blow off” in reference to his upcoming shows.
Yungblud’s announcement of the postponement of his tour came shortly after the release of his Valentines day surprise for fans which included a stripped-down-performance of Yungblud’s track ‘love song‘ and an EP ‘a weird! af valentine’s day’ consisting pre-released-cuts from his last album ‘weird!’ including ‘strawberry lipstick, ‘it’s quiet in beverly hills’, ‘parents’, ‘love song’, ‘casual sabotage’ and ‘cotton candy’.
