Singer and producer Youngr has made mashups of his favourite Oasis songs like “Wonderwall”, “Champagne Supernova” and “Live Forever”. The club-ready mashup mix runs for almost four minutes and includes some of the greatest Oasis tunes. The mix also includes samples from The Stone Roses which the musician teased about on his Twitter: “Made a mashup of all my favourite Oasis tunes for Student_Pocket… 10 points if you tell me the other legendary manc band I’ve sampled.. “.

In August Youngr released his latest single “Hottest Than Hawaii”, a great summer tune. It was written with Tim Woodcock in 2016 on a hot day in a West London studio. The singer commented on the track: “I had a songwriting session at his studio in West London and I remember the weather was absolutely BAKING! As I was getting on the Underground someone handed me the daily paper and the headline read “It’s Hotter Than Hawaii! Temperatures soar past 36ºC in London today” I remember thinking, ‘well, that’s today’s song sorted!'”.
“We met up and basically had the MOST amount of fun writing this song about that particular summer, the Rio Olympics had just started, everyone was outside playing Pokemon Go on their phones, I was living in Clapham Common at the time with everyone on the park hanging out, blasting tunes out, drinking beer, doing Yoga...” – he continues. The summer track has been released via Armada Music which is Armin Van Buuren’s record label. Check out “Hotter Than Hawaii” below.
In a recent interview with Studentpocketguide, Youngr talked about his musical background, influences and not fitting in as a kid. He described his musical sound as “Upbeat/ positive/ forget your problems/ dance like a lunatic/ good vibe all day kinda music“.
Speaking about his childhood and not being able to fit in issue, he said: “Not fitting in sucks.. at the time. Then you get older and realise it is awesome!”. “I would say, own your weirdness. If someone tells you you are crazy, thank them and be crazier!” he added.
Speaking about his Top Three music achievements, Youngr listed wining an Ebba, hearing his song on Next holding line music and receiving a Tweet from an actress Chloe Graze Mortez saying that she loves his voice.
Youngr also shared his views on singing with a record label: “It was pretty mad, to be honest. Big shift in how your operation works. Very easy to lose perspective/ lose sight of what the hell you are doing etc. But its loads of fun! I wouldn’t change a thing!”.
