Years and Years was formed in 2010 and was originally a five-piece band. Frontman Olly Alexander Thornton (Singer and actor) – known as Olly Alexander, Mikey Goldsworthy (Guitarist), Emre Türkmen (Producer, songwriter and guitarist), Noel Leeman (Musician and actor) and Olivier Subria (Musician) made up the band line-up. The band’s biggest hit was their single “King” (2015) from their debut album Communion (2015). The band’s single and debut album reached number one in the UK Offical Charts. Alexander decided to embark on a solo career using the band’s name when they disbanded on March 18th.
