Wolf Alice has announced a short film, “Blue Weekend,” which will follow the release of their third studio album of the same name.
Announcing the film on Instagram, the band wrote: “Last winter we began making a visual feast for your eyes. Set on a night out we wanted to bring the music of Blue Weekend to life with this beautiful film directed by @jordan_hemingway. Pints and ciggies have literally never looked this good lol. This was an amazing experience and we really hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Thank you to our incredible team. BLUE WEEKEND will be screened for the first time on Thursday 10th of June at @picturehousecentral and we’ll also be playing an acoustic show.”
“Blue Weekend” will be screened next Thursday (10 June 2021) at 6:30 pm and 8:45 pm at Picture House, London, and the lucky individuals who get tickets will see the band play a live acoustic performance following each of their evening sittings. The film is directed by longtime collaborator Jordan Hemingway, who has also worked with the likes of English rock band The Horrors and American rapper Travis Scott.
Wolf Alice’s third studio album “Blue Weekend” will be released tomorrow (04 June 2021.) Front lady Ellie Rowsell said of their latest project, “Sometimes you hear a song and it makes you feel better, or you hear a song and it makes you feel seen. I remember feeling blue about something, and thinking, ‘I wonder what songs I can listen to that will be about what I’m feeling right now’.” Today (03 June 2021 the band shared the latest track from their forthcoming album “How Can I Make It OK?” Accompanied by a music video, also directed by Jordan Hemingway, “How Can I Make It OK?” serves as an inviting pre-requisite to tomorrow’s highly anticipated release.
The band are also set to sit down with Radio X’s John Kennedy for an exclusive track by track tomorrow (4 June 2021) at 11 pm.
