Wireless Festival is the latest festival to announce that it will be going ahead this year. The London festival will now take place on September 10th-12th. The festival also announced a first-time location move from their usual venue of Finsbury Park to Crystal Palace Park. In a statement the festival announced:
“Early July was too much of a worry for us in the government’s timing out of lockdown and we really wanted to ensure Wireless could happen this year. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it work in Finsbury in September but we can in the beautiful Crystal Palace Park!”.

While no line-up details have been announced yet, tickets have gone on sale with the first release already completely sold out. In recent years Wireless has become known for its focus in showcasing R&B and Hip-Hop with previous headliners including Stormzy, Migos, The Weeknd, and Chance The Rapper.
After Wireless 2020 was cancelled as the COVID-19 pandemic completed halted the entire live event industry, the festival was able to adapt. Wireless Connect was broadcast on YouTube on 2020’s original festival dates, July 3rd -5th. The virtual festival provided fans with a set of 360° VR pre-recorded performances. Artists such as Young Thug and Stefflon Don appeared at the historic Alexandra Palace while American artists such as Saweetie recorded shows in Los Angeles.
Hopefully, the festival will be able to pull off a successful weekend in person this year as long as restrictions allow. Promoters Festival Republic have previously confirmed that Latitude Festival plans to run at full capacity in July, while Reading & Leeds festivals are also set to go ahead this summer. This brings hope that Wireless may also be able to run at full capacity.
