This probably hasn’t been the best week of Wiley’s life. During his journey to Toronto for a gig this week, the MC was sent away by immigration officials; who preceded to return him to Glasgow rather than Scotland. Wiley’s response to this? Have a rage against ‘the man’ on Twitter.
Wiley’s angry tweets, which can still (mostly) be seen on his twitter page, complain about the immigration officials and appear to hint that one of the officials may have got his goat by suggesting that Wiley could ‘find [his] way to England from Glasgow’. The exact reason for Wiley’s deportation has yet to be announced and the MC seemed confused and believed that he hadn’t committed any crimes in North America.
Though the distance from Glasgow to London may not seem that significant to a North American, Wiley was less than pleased about the prospect of having to travel most of the length of the UK after his premature plane out of Canada arrived in Scotland. Probably the greatest positive that can be taken from this experience is that Wiley went online to discourage his fans, particularly younger fans, from breaking the law; something which ultimately may have been his downfall in this instance.
For those who were hoping to get a glimpse of Wiley in Toronto the chance is now gone, although he has already hinted that simply obtaining a Visa would help him with immigration should he try and tour the great white north again.
