The video clip has been filmed during rehearsals in an abandoned textile mill in Preston, directed and edited by Joel Maudsley and mastered by Joe Ramsden. The clip features visual made by the band. You can watch the clip below.
The band, formed of Joey Cobb and Katie Drew, recorded a few more songs for this first live sessions, from the upcoming album and also from their previous released EP, “Within a Dream“.
The Musicians called their upcoming album: “the dark-hued dreampop“.
White Flowers have formed in Preston, where they have started working on their music, but now live in London. Cobb said: “There’s something uniquely bleak about the North, but in that bleakness there’s a certain beauty.”
Drew explained the sound of White Flowers: “We didn’t want to be a psych band, but discovering that music gave us both energy and focus. We’ve spent so many years developing these songs, because I think it was important we waited until White Flowers became its own defined thing.“
The songwriting pair like to experiment with sound to form unique melodies that they turn into songs. Cobb explains: “We like the more alien sounds, where the focus is on creating atmosphere.” Drew added: “We don’t like it when things are clean or overproduced and there’s something interesting in the instinctive nature of the first thing you sing, because you don’t really know what you’re singing until it comes out and it makes sense.”
Talking about the upcoming debut album, musicians said: “The songs on the album were written from when we were teenagers up to our early 20s, so it’s come of age in this weird apocalyptic time“. You can listen to and purchase the new album of the band’s Bandcamp.
