Bernie Taupin, Sir Elton John’s co-writer and very close friend, has reported that John has a new album that will release in only a few weeks.

Despite being finished with performing, the hit singer is reported to have his 32nd studio album “all done and recorded”.

After suspicions back in February that John was working on a surprise album, it has now been revealed that the wait will not be for much longer. Taupin, at ‘The Other Songs Live’ event in London, said that him and John have produced this album together, and it was finished being produced only a few months ago. At the event, he added that the album will “surprise… and excite a lot of people” as it is “brilliant” and “quite contemporary”.

Whilst there is no specific release date as of yet, the 77 year old hit singer has reportedly said that he wants to release the album before summer, meaning it should be in the forthcoming weeks.

Across his five decade career, Elton John has had eight UK number 1 albums,  and it is unlikely that this album will be any less successful than the rest- as he carries a huge fan base and has collaborated with huge artists such as Dua Lipa, Kiki Dee, and Aretha Franklin.
