Lana Del Rey has found international success in the past few years following the release of her second studio album Born To Die in 2012. She is well known for carrying her own unique musical style that echoes influences from Hollywood icons and culture, teaming artistic videos with dreamy, powerful vocals almost reminiscent of lullabies to the tune of her own captivating lyrics.
Lana Del Rey’s latest video for her new single Freak is full of drugs, American imagery, artful camera shots and provocative symbolism, resulting in quite an intense and ethereal experience. Freak is the third single from Del Rey’s 2015 album Honeymoon, and with the video playing on themes of intoxication and sexual energy, Freak resonates the general tone of the album and is a fitting addition to the videos for previous singles High By The Beach and Music To Watch Boys To.
The video, at almost 11 minutes long, premiered at a Los Angeles screening on February 9th 2016, co-starring Father John Misty, an indie American musician that Del Rey has previously stated her admiration for.
