Waiting For Smith, real name, Harry Lloyd has released his newest single Lost In Your Light. Along with the new single, Waiting For Smith have also dropped the music video for the track. He took to Instagram to announce the news saying; “I’m super excited to share it with you guys! And I truly hope it gives you all the warmth and lightness it gave me while filming it.”
The video follows an autumnal theme and shows Harry running through the woods and laying in the leaves among friends. The video matches the song, which encourages people to slow down and listen to what people have to say rather than racing through life.
Speaking about his inspiration for his work, Harry said; “I’ve recently been really inspired by this book by Geoff Emerick called Hear, There and Everywhere: about his early life as an engineer recording The Beatles aged 18, and the way they worked together. They just kept them coming out with hits, without always feeling like they needed to perfectionate the records, which actually made the work perfect if you know what I mean. They put the work in where necessary but it was really kind of rough around the edges – and I love that.”
Lost in your Light is Waiting For Smith’s 4th single of this year following the releases of So Much Love, Long Life and Lines of Love. Long Life was written following Harry’s horrific accident in the French Alps where he was undertaking avalanche training as a ski instructor. He broke his back in two places and had the realisation that he wanted to change his path in life from skiing to music.
He spent his recovery time honing his creativity and learning to play the guitar. Since then Waiting For Smith has gained 414K streams on Spotify, 100KYouTube views, 20K Facebook followers and almost 40K Shazams.
