Vans plan to release a new limited edition collection of sneakers inspired by the late music legend David Bowie. Each of the designs, all taken from classic Vans silhouettes, are inspired by classic Bowie albums.
The Old Skool design is perhaps the most memorable of the range, as the shoe features the iconic red lighting stripe that was painted on Bowie’s face on the cover of his 1973 album ‘Aladdin Sane’.
The Slip-On shoes will pay tribute to Bowie’s 1971 album, ‘Hunky Dory’, whereas the Era, with its black soles and blue dots, is inspired by Bowie’s eponymous second album that featured the hit ‘Space Oddity’.
The Sk8-Hi design pays homage to Bowie’s famous ‘Ziggy Stardust’ era. It features Bowie’s name in its signature font as well as a red lighting stripe.
Pictures of the shoes can be seen below. The collection will be released on April 5th in Vans stores.
