Two Door Cinema Club took to social to announce a return to music, with “new music, new shows, new everything” in the works for 2016.
The Northern Irish band have been pretty silent for a couple of years now, with their social media accounts being inactive since 2014 through to October 2015. The band have now posted a message to their fans on Facebook, promising more new music in 2016. The post read: “Happy New Year! Looking forward to sharing new music, new shows, new everything with you guys! TDCC x”
This follows the confirmation of shows next year in the US, Germany, France and Mexico.
Two Door Cinema Club haven’t played any live shows since gigs in London and Blackpool in December 2013, although some members have performed DJ sets since then. The band were due to play a few shows in 2014, including a headlining slot at Latitude Festival, but were forced to cancel do to illness. The band also haven’t released new music since 2013 either, with their last output being 2013’s The Changing of the Seasons EP.
While the band has been in hibernation, frontman Alex Trimble has been developing a career inphotography. His first exhibition was back in 2013, called ‘Mustang Margaritas’ it featured photos from Trimble and collaborator John William’s trek across America.
