11 years after their last project, the slow moving machine that is Tool has whirred into life again, after a prolonged dormant period.
Always a band to do things on their own terms, fans have been waiting a new album since 2006’s masterful 10,000 Days, and over the weekend (April 7), the band began to post the teaser seen below on all of their social media accounts.

The interval between 10,000 Days and now has been a difficult one, with many delays hindering progress on the new album. Speaking to CBC radio, enigmatic frontman Maynard James Keenan gave a rare interview, about the delays that have affected his writing with not only Tool, but potentially his other projects A Perfect Circle, and Puscifier “For some things yes, I see a plan,” he said, “and others I just see roadblocks.”
Keenan also used the interview as a chance to clarify his previous comments that Tool’s own fans are “insufferable retards”, saying “Our core fanbase aren’t fanatics,” he told Billboard. “They’re music lovers, artists and good people. It’s the fanatics that are insufferable.”
