Former Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has announced his first festival date since his sacking from the band last year. Meighan parted ways with the band in 2020 after it was announced they had ordered him to leave the group. The main cause for the band’s decision was the charge against Meighan for the assault of his partner Vicki Ager. The rocker appeared to the Magistrates Court at Leicester on 7th July 2020 to face said charge of assault against his partner Ager and he pled guilty to one count of assault by beating and was sentenced to 200 hours of unpaid work.
The singer has since married Ager and relocated to Cornwall as well as releasing new music as a solo artist, most recently playing string of headline gigs, which included a show at at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. He is now set to headline Looe! Live Festival from September 16-18 alongside Lightning Seeds. Tickets for the festival are on sale now and you can view the full line-up below.

In an interview with Cornwall Live last December, Ager and Meighan described the incident as a “one-off” and a “drunken squabble” and the singer apologised once more. “We had too much to drink,” said Meighan. “I regret everything that happened that night – what I can remember of it. I don’t condone it – it’s horrific. I love my partner to pieces.” Despite the fact the bandmates haven’t seen each other since the rocker left the band he remains hopeful about a reunion with his former friends.
Last October, Meighan shared his debut solo single “Would You Mind”, writing to fans on his social media: “It’s no secret that I’ve been struggling for the last few years. Music is my therapy and I have have been recording some songs that I now feel ready to share.” The singer said that he decided to release the song as a free download due to the “amazing response” that his teaser of the single had on social media. “I didn’t plan on releasing this song until next year, but due to such an amazing response on social media, I have decided to make it available and free for anyone who wants to listen,”
His former band Kasabian, meanwhile are set to release their new album The Alchemist’s Euphoria in August which will be their first with Serge Pizzorno as frontman.
