Tion Wayne shares the new documentary ‘The Tion Wayne story’ ahead of the release of his debut album Green with envy.
The rapper from Edmonton, North London shared with his fans via Instagram that he was releasing his documentary saying in the caption “I’m telling my story for the first time proud to announce I will be dropping my documentary”.
The rapper released part one last Friday and will be dropping a segment every Friday until the 24th of September, the week after his album release.
The 4 part series was put together by Tion’s manager Nino, Olu HD, Wowa and Marta Strauss and features interviews from his team, family, friends, figures in the UK rap scene and Tion himself.
The first episode was 22 minutes long and showed the early years of Tions life, growing up in Edmonton, his early rap career and finding himself in trouble.
The documentary will see the 28-year-olds journey from where he was as a young boy coming out of Edmonton to the UK rap superstar he has become today.
His album releases come at a good time with the rapper having topped the UK charts for 3 consecutive weeks with his drill hit “Body” alongside fellow rapper Russ.
“Body”,” WOW” and “Wid it” featuring Brighton rapper are the only two singles on the album to have been released. “Body” success was record-breaking for a drill song, “Wid it” currently sits on 4.5 million views after 2 weeks and peaked at 19th on the official charts. While “WOW” peaked at 21st and currently sits on 12 million views. The release of Tions album Green with envy comes at the Edmonton rappers peak of stardom.
