Following the release of their debut album, ‘Wild Silence’, The Wandering Hearts have announced an additional date, in Dublin, to their UK headline tour this November and December. The additional gig will see the quartet conclude their UK headline tour at The Workman’s club, in Dublin, on the 7th of December, and it will be the bands first appearance in the city.
The folk-Americana group will be hitting the road on the 21st of November in Bath and are set to conclude, their largest UK tour to-date, on the 7th of December in Dublin. The quartet, consisting of AJ, Chess, Tim and Tara, showcase their lyrical ability for storytelling with a warm folk-Americana vibe, on their debut album ‘Wild Silence’. The album manages to balance up-beat tracks like ‘Fire & Water’ and harmony-led ballads ‘If I Fall’. The album also features previously released singles like ‘Wish I Could’, ‘Devil’ and ‘Burning Bridges’.
Speaking of the album, The Wandering Hearts said: “The title track Wild Silence is about an unspoken, unexplainable bond that draws people together. You don’t know why or how, all you know is that you can’t ignore or fight it. Everyone can relate to this feeling, and as a band we certainly can, so we felt it was a fitting title for the album as a whole. We met almost serendipitously two years ago and since then, we have built a deep, often unspoken connection and understanding of one another. We are so grateful for the support we have received in such a short amount of time together as a band. We have worked hard on this album and are so excited to be able to share it with people!”
In February, the group won the coveted Bob Harris Emerging Artist Award at The UK Americana Awards 2018, a prize handpicked by the legendary broadcaster himself. They performed their song ‘Burning Bridges’ at the awards ceremony, and joined Imelda May, Mumford and Sons and Robert Plant on stage for a rendition of the late Tom Petty’s ‘Wildflowers’.
“We are overwhelmed to be acknowledged at this stage of our career and to be recognised by the legend that is Bob Harris, makes it even more incredible,” the Wandering Hearts said, speaking about receiving the award.
Last year, the band dropped their first EP ‘Burning Bridges’ followed by a string of high profile performances at festivals like Leeds, The Great Escape and Cambridge Folk. Before beginning their upcoming tour this November and December, the band will make stops at the stages of The Long Road and Millport Country Music Festivals.
