The Struts, who first formed in Derby in 2012, have signed to leading independent record label Big Machine Label Group, a subsidiary of HYBE America. The band with the combined satirical swagger of singer Luke Spiller, guitarist Adam Slack, bassist Jed Elliott, and drummer Gethin Davies join a wide-ranging roster. Big Machine Records includes a superstar lineup of artists including Sheryl Crow, radical poet Ray Wylie Hubbard, Metal guitarist John 5, and popular chart-topping act Badflower, hitmaker Ayron Jones and exciting rock group Starcrawler.
Via a press release frontman Spiller said of signing for the record label: “Myself and the rest of The Struts are so happy and excited to announce we have become part of the Big Machine family! We are more inspired and focused than ever, and that mainly comes down to Scott and the rest of the team’s genuine love and excitement for what we do. Watch this space because it’s about to blow up x,”
This was then followed by a statement from Big Machine Label Group Chairman & CEO Scott Borchetta “I’ve always loved this band’s sound and swagger and Luke is one of the best front men in rock…. they’ve always had the passion, put in the time and the long miles, and now it’s time to go next level. Welcome to the Machine.”
The Struts have toured frequently since their formation, including many worldwide headline shows and major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Governors Ball and Isle of Wight, until COVID-19 put a hold on any further festivals or tpirimd. Yet despite the problems caused by the outbreak the band created their third album Strange Days. Within less than two weeks, The Struts put together ten tracks for the album which included collaborations from the likes of Robbie Williams and Tom Morello just to name a few.
The band are also set to embark on their US tour this Spring before heading off to Europe for a slew of summer festival gigs, followed by their headline ‘The Homecoming Tour’ in the UK in July appropriately named to mark the British rock band’s return to the isles.
