The Rolling Stones: ‘On Air In The Sixties’ is the new book that will be published by Penguin House, telling the stories of the Stones as they rose to fame through their radio and TV performances throughout the sixties.
The book is said to feature “unseen facsimile documents from the BBC and commercial TV and radio archives and many stunning unseen images..” There is also a letter that Brian Jones wrote to the BBC in 1963, requesting an audition for the Rollin Stones Rhythm and Blues band. The book, written by Richard Havers, concludes at the end of the decade.
Alongside the book will be a companion DVD, which will feature never before seen footage of The Rolling Stones. Both the book and the DVD are scheduled for release on the 26th September.
Meanwhile, The Rolling Stones are readying for their Autumn tour which sees 13 shows hit 12 European cities, however, the band does not come to the UK, blaming a lack of venues for the reason.
Sorry to our UK fans there are no UK dates on this run,due to lack of available venues because of sporting fixtures. Hope to be here in 2018 pic.twitter.com/X3NGYO5sE3
