The Moldy Peaches’ Adam Green and Kimya Dawson reunited for new shows on the West Coast of the States, to accompany screenings of New York rock scene documentary Meet Me in the Bathroom. The Peaches themselves feature in the documentary, along with other 2000s New York icons, such as The Strokes, Interpol, TV on the Radio and The Rapture. Dawson and Green’s first performance together in over a decade took place at the Los Angeles premier of the film, going on to play a show in Seattle. They followed the new shows with an announcement that they will continue to play together, and plan to reunite the rest of the six-piece lineup. This will be the first time the Moldy Peaches have played together as a full band in two decades.
Since the Peaches’ hiatus as a band began in 2004, both Green and Dawson have been working on their respective solo projects, with Green releasing seven solo albums, as well as a film, Adam Green’s Aladdin, in 2016. Kimya Dawson continued to tour in her own right, and put out several studio albums, among them 2006’s critically acclaimed Remember That I Love You on K Records.
Talking about the reunion, Adam and Kimya said, “We’re excited to be back, older and moldier. Let’s see if we still got it! Once a Moldy Peach always a Moldy Peach.”
