The Maccabees have just announced their first European tour since 2016. Pre-sale ticket go on sale on March 5 at 9am with regular sales going live on March 7 via the band’s website.
The band will be making a total of five live appearances in the run up to their headline show at All Points East this summer, in London. In a talk with DIY magazine, the band’s guitarist Felix White said: “None of us thought we’d ever play shows again anywhere, so to be coming back to Europe to play is going to be a really magical thing for us. Hopefully the whole tour will have a real sense of something precious about it.”
The band announced their reunion last year after an eight year hiatus. Their All Points East Festival headline will mark the 10th anniversary of their acclaimed debut album ‘Marks To Prove It’. Their headline show will see them play alongside other iconic indie rock bands such as Bombay Bicycle Club, The Cribs, Dry Cleaning, The Murder Capital and more. Tickets are now available to buy via the All Points East official website.
The ‘Toothpaste Kisses’ writers have now confirmed their European tour which will see them perform in Belgium, France, Germany and The Netherlands this June. The group, who had previously bid farewell to their fans with three sold-out shows at Alexandra Palace in 2017 saw themselves reunite for a special performance of their track ‘Pelican’ at guitarist Hugo White’s wedding in 2020.
Talking with Rolling Stones, frontman Orlando Weeks said: “I didn’t go because it was The Maccabees playing together again, but because it was a beautiful gesture to be invited and to contribute to the spirit of the day. What I wanted, band aside, was to find a way to be in each other’s lives in some way.’’ Other artists who performed at Hugo’s wedding included Adele, Florence + The Machine and Jamie T.
