It’s also possible that the band is working on a new album, as when asked during an interview with This Feeling Barat said “Soon” and stated “We’re doing everything we can. We’ve got so much material and so much still to do and say.” Barat also explained further about the bands’ idea for a hotel, following Pete Doherty’s interview with ‘Q Magazine’ first explaining the idea in 2016. Barat said ” We’re in the process of making Libertines hotel, bar, restaurant, recording studio” “…A place to make a record, a place to rehearse, a place to write, a place to do whatever the fuck we want to.

Meanwhile, Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn surprised 20,000 people at Wirral Live Music Festival in Prenton Park, Birkenhead whilst they were waiting for The Libertines to take the stage and perform a headline set. Corbyn took the stage in aid of the Labour Campaign, stating “This election is about you, about what we can achieve together.” The Labour party leaders words were drowned out however by the crowds chanting “Oh Jeremy Corbyn” and “Jezza, Jezza.” The speech was filmed as part of the Labour campaign and even with the election now over, you can relive the moment and watch the video here.
