On 10 April, British indie rock band The Kooks announced the sale of tickets for a series of shows at various retail stores across the UK. The first show will commence on the 2nd May at Bear Tree- The Leadmill, though many are excited for their final appearance at HMV Empire in Coventry for its intimate, nostalgic location. The store has been a home for alternative music fans for several years, and with the band’s alt-rock music history this will make for an exciting performance.

Alongside this, the eclectic rock band will be hosting an exclusive listening party for their upcoming album ‘Never/Know’. The Kooks have collaborated with Deezer to give away 2 spots to the event on Thursday 1 May along with an opportunity to meet the band and attend a private Q&A.

The upcoming album ‘Never/know’ was announced earlier this year on the band’s Instagram where they revealed the release date to be 9 May. Additionally, they explain the concept of the project as ‘romantic’, ‘positive’, ‘sunshine’. This will be a welcome release for the band with their uplifting, feel-good punk sound.
The band, well known for bangers like ‘Naive’ and ‘She Moves In Her Own Way’ have released six studio albums and eight EPs. Though their latest single ‘Sunny Baby’ comes three years after their last album release in 2022 ‘10 Tracks to Echo in the dark’. The upbeat, bouncy track ‘Sunny Baby’ lives up to its name in its sweet romance– a perfect March release with the oncoming British sunshine. The band released the track with a laid back, colourful music video. In a post on X, the Kooks have explained the process and thought behind the love-filled track.

The band will follow these intimate UK performances with an upcoming All Over The World tour scheduled to commence in May.
