Its hard to believe but ten years has past since we were jumping on tables and singing along to “Heavy Cross”, doing our best Beth Ditto impressions. But this years marks the 10th anniversary of the release of the now iconic “Music For Men Album” and The Gossip have announced they’re getting back together for a ceremonial tour. Today European dates for this tour were released.
Where does the time go…? @GossipMusic announce ‘Music For Men’ shows – it’s the album’s 10th anniversary (and we had them on the cover!) https://t.co/Q6XEwydBGV pic.twitter.com/P3N6fQHF6f

The album, produced by the legendary Rick Rubin, shot the band into fame and the public sphere, and was described as a “raised fist of a record” in The Guardian and and “The greatest punk rock ‘n’ roll disco soul band on the planet” in the NME. It went on to sell over 1.5 million copies world wide, and is now back for a tour ten years on.
Speaking in a press release the band said “We can’t believe it’s been 10 years since the release of Music For Men! We are beyond excited to reunite with our Gossip family and fans. We’ve truly missed playing these songs and connecting with our amazing and inspiring crowds. It’ll be a sweaty, outrageous time for sure. Can’t wait to see y’all in Europe in July!”
The band now feel the album could more poignant and relevant than ever before. Upon it’s release the album brought queer politics to the mainstream, confronted body politics head on and singularly refused to be pigeonholed or ignored. And now in our politically confusing times It feels like the perfect moment for these straight-talking rebel rousing icons to embark on a tour at a time when the political, cultural, gender and sexuality issues that fired and inspired Gossip’s anthems are so much a part of our daily currency.
The band will play 11 tour dates across Europe this July and August, and will also be appearing at festivals around the world. The tour has them begin in France before heading across Germany and then on to Portugal to appear at NOS Alive Festival, before heading to the UK for a selection of dates. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9 am.
