The Chemical Brothers have announced that their new album ‘No Geography’ will be released in the Spring of 2019. The duo will support their ninth studio album, with a short run of shows across the UK, in November 2019, and North America in May 2019. Tickets go on sale on Friday the 30th of November 2018 and can be purchased here.
Following the announcement that the ‘Free Yourself’ singers, will be headlining the All Points East Festival 2019, the Manchester duo, Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, are set to kick start their UK run of shows off, in Leeds, on the 21st of November 2019. The legendary duo will bring their, five-date, tour to a close, in Birmingham, on the 29th of November 2019. Meanwhile, the duo will be supported by The Black Madonna on their North America run of shows.
‘No Geography’ follows the bands Grammy nominated 2015 album, ‘Born In the Echoes’, which was their sixth consecutive UK No. 1 album. Further details of the album, including the track listing, are yet to be revealed, but the album is set for a Spring 2019 release and will feature the duo’s exuberant latest new track, ‘Free Yourself’. The bands latest single was accompanied by a ground-breaking video, which was directed by long time creative collaborators Dom&Nic.
Speaking about their work on the ‘Free Yourself’ video, Dom and Nic, said: “Why would artificial intelligence behave any different to humans discovering music and dance for the first time? We’ve all seen humans dancing brilliantly like robots, we’ve also seen robots dancing brilliantly like robots but you’ve never seen robots dancing badly like humans. That’s new. The Chemical Brothers music allows people to get out of their box at a gig or listening to the record – it’s a moment of frenzied abandonment to the music.
Continuing, they said: “We wanted to capture that feeling in the idea of an oppressed robot workforce suddenly abandoning themselves to music and fun. It’s robots having fun, robots being silly and robots raving! Tom and Ed are the best people to make music videos for, their music always inspires great visual ideas and stories and as artists they are incredibly supportive of the creative vision.”
