The Beatles are teasing an upcoming “last song” for the band, by projecting orange and white cassettes across their hometown of Liverpool. The new track has been created by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr in conjunction with AI, which will include all four members of the Beatles, including John Lennon and George Harrison.
The release date or title of the new track is currently unknown, but the track is being teased across Liverpool, with projections of an orange and white cassette showing up across locations like the Cavern Club, which the band had played over 200 times in the 1960’s. The projections have also showed up outside the grounds of Strawberry Fields and next to a road sign for Penny Lane, both locations which inspired hit Beatles songs, as well as outside of John Lennon’s childhood home and the Sgt Pepper Bistro.
The Beatles’ social media pages have made it clear that the projections are a tease for the new track as they have posted the same cassette across their accounts. In interviews drummer Ringo Starr has even said: “It should’ve been out already”, meaning it can only be assumed that a release is imminent.

Ringo Starr has spoken about the track many times across the year, as he has previously said: “It’s not down to AI… It’s not like we’re pretending anything. That is actually John’s voice, Paul’s voice and bass playing, George on rhythm guitar and me on drums. The two things that are new are Paul’s bass and me on drums… I really worked at it just months ago here. And it works. It’s a beautiful song. You know, for all the madness going on around it, it’s still a beautiful track. And our last track.”
Paul McCartney has also shed light on the upcoming track and the process behind making it, as he said: “We’ve seen some confusion and speculation about it. Seems to be a lot of guess work out there. Can’t say too much at this stage but to be clear, nothing has been artificially or synthetically created. It’s all real and we all play on it, we cleaned up some existing recordings – a process which has gone on for years. We hope you love it as much as we do. More news in due course.”
It would seem that the AI technology is being used to isolate Harrison and Lennon’s tracks within a demo tape and use that demo as a basis to create a full final track alongside McCartney’s and Starr’s new recordings. More will be known once the track has finally been released.
