Last week, The 1975 advertised an opportunity for couples to feature in their next music video. Their record label Dirty Hit announced that filming would commence on January 18, requesting for couples to get involved.
To enter, the couple would need to send an email with their name, address, age, and a photo together to the address, 1975@dirtyhit.co.uk.
In October 2019, The 1975 picked up the award for Best Act in the World Today at the 2019 Q Awards, with Lana Del Rey taking home Song Of The Decade. Other winners included Dizzee Rascal, Little Simz and Lewis Capaldi.
Responding to the award, Healy said: “Actually, ‘greatest act’ is really, really humbling, because there’s a lot of great acts, but there’s not many great bands,” Healy went on.
“Bands are kind of dead. Or at least, four white guys with guitars being the zeitgeist is not where we are.”
The 1975’s last album, the acclaimed ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’, was awarded five stars on NME, described as “an artefact that sums up millennial life, a magpie pop masterpiece that could only be made right now and right here.”
“This is a piece of art that shows another side to a generation, one of achievement, wit and humanity in the most confusing of times. Clever boys.”
