Cheshire pop rock phenomenon The 1975 announced an online listening party for their sophomore album ‘I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It’. The listening party will take place on Friday May 8th. In the announcement on social media the band posted the times for the different time zones, revealing that the listening party will begin at 7pm UK time.
The band, which was supposed to play Boardmasters festival and Summer Sessions this year, already held a listening party for their self-titled debut album last week. It has not yet been announced on which platform the listening party will be hosted, but seeing as last week’s listening party was held on Spotify it is likely that this Friday’s listening party will also take place on the popular streaming app.

The sophomore album was released in February 2016 and features some of the band’s most popular songs such as ‘Somebody Else’, ‘Loving Someone’, ‘A Change Of Heart’, ‘UGH!’ or ‘She’s American’. It topped the UK Album Chart just seven days after its release and was later certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
Two weeks ago, frontman Matty Healy revealed in a phone call with BBC Radio 1 that he’s self -isolating in the studio in which the last two The 1975 records were produced, and that he’s currently working on new music. The band’s fourth album ‘Notes On Conditional Form’ is said to be released on May 22.
“Like everybody else, I’m in the same situation and taking it day by day,” Healy said in the interview with radio host Annie Mac. “I feel really, really lucky to keep being able to do what I do, when so many people can’t. I’m just trying to not take that for granted.” Even though we still have to wait two more weeks before we get to listen to new music, we can still jam to The 1975 on Friday. If you want to participate, keep an eye out for more information on the band’s social media accounts.
