Previously disbanded dance music supergroup Swedish House Mafia have stunned fans with a shock reunion and performance at Miami’s Ultra Festival, last night.
The trio, comprising of Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello, emerged onstage from a dark background, to a baying crowd, before grabbing a mic, and announcing ”
“I am Axwell, I am Sebastian Ingrosso, and I am Steve Angelo,” the group said.
“And Miami, tonight we go by Swedish House Mafia.” you can check out the footage of their set below.
Fittingly, Ultra Festival was the site of the group’s initial final performance, back in 2013. The trio wasted no time, launching into a career-spanning set, featuring crowd favourites like ‘Save the World’, Greyhound’, and concluding with a pyrotechnic-enhanced rendition of ‘One.’
There had been rumours of a SHM reunion for some time, with the band’s logo appearing around the streets of Miami in the weeks prior. The group took to Twitter to confirm their return after the festival, simply stating ‘IT WAS TIME.’

Axwell had been fuelling rumours of a reunion since as far back as 2016, when he admitted to NME that he was open to the group returning to the stage and studio.
“I think we’re all in our happy places right now. Having said that it would be stupid of me to say never [to a reunion]” he said.
“Maybe one day something will happen inside of us that says ‘boom’. But it’s more [likely to be] coming from us than at a festival.”
