For fans who have sorely mourned the disbanding of influential experimental metal bands The Dillinger Escape Plan and equally influential New York metalcore masters Everytime I Die, the announcement of new music from key members of each has been met with resounding excitement.
Hardcore super-band, Better Lovers, a mouthwatering mix of Dillinger Escape Plan, Everytime I Die and Fit for an Autopsy have announced not only new music, but a run of intimate UK shows, kicking off this October.
Comprising Jordan Buckley, Clayton Holyoak and Stephen Micciche of Everytime I Die, singer Greg Puciato of Dillinger Escape Plan and producer/guitarist Will Putney of Fit for an Autopsy, the band will embark on their first ever UK headlining tour with two nights in London and one each in Brighton and Leeds respectively.
With only a single song released thus far- the appetite whetting “13 Under 30” UK fans of the aforementioned bands are in for a particularly exclusive treat as the group will undoubtedly share further new music, likely to feature on a forthcoming album. With the band performing at smaller, yet notable, venues such as the Dome in London and Chalk in Brighton, the tour promises to introduce the band to scores of new UK fans as well as delight long time fans, who may already miss these genre defining acts.
After a less than friendly split with Everytime I Die’s frontman and brother Keith Buckley, Jordan is keen to get back to making groundbreaking music after Everytime I Die‘s last album peaked in the top 75 of UK charts, the strongest UK chart performance of the band’s career. With the group making significant waves on both sides of the Atlantic, it came as no small surprise to fans that the band was calling it quits after 24 years on the scene.
On the formation of Better Lovers, Jordan said, “This is the next evolution for each of us. Greg and Will rejuvenated me and made me even more confident. Now, everybody needs to know we’re a wild animal that just broke out of the zoo-there’s no trying to put it back in the cage.”
Now, the supergroup is ready to run wild in the UK this October and fans will be hoping that this will mark the first tour of many to come. The heights that this band can and will achieve are unimaginable, so getting your hands on tickets to intimate shows while the group is in its infancy is an opportunity few will want to miss.
