Stormzy has called for Jacob Rees-Mogg to stand down from his position after the MP remarked that the victims of Grenfell lacked ‘common sense’, regarding the North Kensington tower block fire that killed 72 people.
While speaking to LBC host Nick Ferrari yesterday, the Tory MP suggested that the 72 victims in the tragedy could have survived if they’d ignored orders issued by the London Bridge to stay put.
Stormzy took to Twitter, sharing a clip of the interview between Nick and Jacob, captioning the post,
“Oi @Jacob_Rees_Mogg. You need to resign you’re an actual piece of shit, I beg everyone watch this.MP Jacob Rees Mogg in a nutshell saying Grenfell Victims should of [sic] had the common sense to escape. I can’t believe the cheek, fucking hell these politicians are actual aliens.”
The rapper went on to say, “My man said “if either of us were in fire, whatever the fire brigade said, we’d leave a burning building” as if to say “come on bro, they were just dumb” as if those who lost their lives weren’t smart enough to escape. Fucking hell this man is the scummiest”

During his Brit Awards performance in 2018, the rapper aimed a freestyle on the Grenfell disaster at former Prime Minister Theresa May. “Theresa May, where’s the money for Grenfell?”
He aimed his lyrical attack at the Government as well, suggesting that they “just forgot about Grenfell, you criminals, and you got the cheek to call us savages, you should do some jail time, you should pay some damages, we should burn your house down and see if you can manage this.”
More recently, Stormzy accepted the award for ‘Best Solo Act’ at the 2019 Q Awards. The 1975 won the award for ‘Best Act In The World Today’ and Dizzee Rascal collected the accolade for ‘Innovation In Sound’. Other winners included Little Simz for Best Vocal Performance and Lewis Capaldi for Best Track with his song ‘Someone You Loved’.
