Climate change is a hot topic, and quite rightly so. All of us can make changes in our own lives to help in the efforts to reduce waste. ‘Sounds Like A Plan’ podcast was set up by Savages’ Fay Milton and music journalist Greg Cochrane to help raise awareness about these issues. Their weekly podcast has interviewed the likes of Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien, Jamie Oborne manager of The 1975, and Reading & Leeds boss Melvin Benn. Milton discussed the podcast with Rolling Stone and had this to say: “There are so many positive things happening in the music industry, and yet so many gaps to be filled. There’s definitely room for everyone to get involved in promoting sustainability within the music community – hopefully, we can inspire people with this podcast!“. As we enter a second series of the podcast, we can expect more great outspoken musicians, and music-based folk, to come forward with their ‘plan’.
The new series will include an episode with Architects-own Sam Carter who has been outspoken in his efforts to spread his message on climate change and opinions on the vegan debate. Being made the British ambassador for the marine conservative organization ‘Sea Shepard’ he has made an incredible effort to spread their ideas and show support on and off of the stage. He made music that targets people’s attitudes towards the environment on songs like “Gravedigger”, “Black Lungs” from their latest album For Those That Wish To Exist, and notably, “From The Wilderness”- which involves a sample from a Michael C. Ruppert quote.
This episode of the podcast is sure to be filled with great information for anyone looking to expand, or start, their climate change learning. If Sam Carter’s appearance on such podcasts as ‘Off Menu’ with Ed Gamble and James Acaster and his two appearances on Craig Reynold’s ‘The Downbeat’ podcast.
