UK rapper Slowthai has shared his latest single today, 18th December, which is also his 26th birthday. Titled ‘Thoughts’, the song was co-written and produced JD. Reid and follows Slowthai’s life up until now.
The artist posted the lyric video to his Instagram saying, “thank you for all the birthday messages love you lot forever. feds shut down the shoot but fuck it. a present from me to you THOUGHTS OUT NOW!!!” In this, he is referring to the video, in which the police are shown keeping an eye on the crowd of people on the shoot.
It has been confirmed that despite Slowthai planning to release his new album on 5th February 2021, ‘Thoughts’ will not be included. However, the track-list does feature recent tracks ‘nhs’ and ‘feel away’, as well as many unreleased songs.
Of ‘nhs‘, the rapper said that it should be “a reminder to always appreciate what you have whilst you have it.” The music video gained 95,000 views in the first two days, and it now stands at 722,000 after one month.
Titled after Slowthai’s real name, Tyron Frampton, the album will have 13 tracks. Slowthai commented that he hopes “this album can be the light if you’re in the dark, and to know you’re not alone,” telling followers, “it’s okay to be yourself, fuck everything else. learn, grow, aim to be better than you were yesterday.”
