Kent punk duo Slaves have marked their return with the unveiling of a new video for ‘Cut and Run’, the first track take from their upcoming, as yet untitled third studio album. The album will follow 2016’s sophomore effort Take Control.
The video shows guitarist Laurie Vincent alongside singer/drummer Isaac Holman dressed for an old school workout video, complete with sweatbands and short shorts. The pair spend the video performing an amusing choreographed routine directly to the camera.
In regards to the upcoming album, the duo have hinted at potential collaborators and guests on the project. When asked about this by NME, Vincent responded “May-beeee”, later elaborating “We want to keep it secret, put it out there and if people notice, they notice it more. It might be a bit like when Elastica had Damon Albarn on their record.” However, it has been heavily suggested that Wolf Alice singer Ellie Roswell could be making an appearance.
In addition to ‘Cut and Run’, Slaves also debuted fellow new songs ‘The Lives They Wish They Had’ and ‘Photo Opportunity’ at New York’s Governors Ball Festival.
