Sir Tom Jones has released a new album called ‘Surrounded By Time’ via EMI Records. The 13-track album is his 42nd album, with his last album being ‘Long Lost Suitcase’ which was released in 2015. ‘Surrounded By Time’ reflects different parts of the singer’s life, including his wife Melinda Trencard’s death in 2016. They got married when they were both 16 and had been together for 69 years. Jones said: “All those things I’ve mentioned in the songs, I’ve lived through. So basically, this album is about my life.”
After the release of the album, Jones wrote on Twitter: “Last year, during lockdown and after 5 years of enormous personal changes, I finally found the need to express myself again through my music. So, I got into the studio with some great friends and musicians and created a new album! Each song tells a story that comes from me and reflects on my own experience at some time. It’s been a hulluva ride and I am really proud of this record! It’s a great listen and I hope you take a moment to give it some Time. Come along with me on this storybook ride, I guarantee you’ll love it! -TOM”.

DIY Mag has said that it is “a release that embraces the gravitas and legacy of Tom’s life and attempts to tie up the loose ends.”
