Silent Rival have announced a handful of UK tour dates, which will see the Los Angeles based trio hit the road in January 2019. The five-date tour will see the band hit the road in Manchester, on the 26th of January 2019 and will see them bring the tour to a close in London, on the 31st of January.
The five-date tour follows the release of the bands latest single ‘Just One Voice’, which has already amassed more than 1.3 million views. Silent Rival is made up of Sara Coda – on vocals, Joz Ramirez – on guitar, and Yutaka Sao – on bass.
Speaking about the single, Coda, said: “Just One Voice is a song for outcasts, so we decided to illustrate that in a very literal way for the music video by having ‘a freak show. This video, the song and this experience are not about us as individuals. It’s about us as a group: the band, the outcasts, the viewer and anyone else that wants to rise up to make the world a place that is worthy of our love. When we’re writing and recording, we are obsessive, hyper-attuned and detail-oriented.”
“As a result, we chose to take a different approach for the video. We let the brilliant Lisa Mann sweat all of that stuff, and we focused solely on having fun. And boy, did we succeed! Standing behind the monitors and witnessing each individual character display their unique talents was what made it easily one of the most fun experiences of our lives. In the final stages of the video-making process, we wanted to make sure all the characters shined,” Coda continued.
“As a band, we choose to reject the belief that we’re living in a messed up world. We love this world, despite its faults. We realize that we have to take responsibility for this world that we’ve created, and with that responsibility comes the power to change it. I see people working to change the world for the better every day. This song is for that army of people,” says the band, speaking about the meaning behind the track.
Joz continued, “It’s really cool that this band could bring together people from different backgrounds to create something unique. The fact that we get to travel around together and play shows to fans together, there’s nothing more fulfilling than that.” “We’re not trying to sell or push anything,” adds Sara. “We don’t want to tell you what to think, believe, or how to live your life. It’s music. Hopefully, you enjoy it. We know that we do, and we will continue to make it regardless of what others deem success.”
The band are currently in the middle of recording their second studio album, due to be released in 2019, and follow-up to “The Kindness of Strangers”, working alongside producer Mark Needham, who has previously worked with the likes of Imagine Dragons, The Killers, and P!nk. ‘Just One Voice’, is mixed by Eddie Kramer, is a searing and modern tale of revolution through strength in numbers.
