English post-punk band Shame have rescheduled their Socially Distanced tour. The group were originally due to play in February 2021, but the shows will now be performed in May and June 2021. The Middlesbrough gig will be taking place in the Town Hall, which means more tickets are for this venue on sale, whilst the Coventry concert has now been cancelled due to the Empire Coventry undergoing construction work.
The band took to Instagram to share the news, posting: “shame don’t cancel shows baby. Fill your veins with the good juice, cleanse your soul of scepticism and get some tickets for live music. Most dates sold out, original tickets still valid or you can get a refund at point of purchase, handful of tickets now available for a couple of dates.. Expect only the best.”
Shame have already released the news that they will be touring the Europe in October and November 2021, and playing further dates in the UK in November 2021. These shows are planned to be played with venues at full capacity. The European leg of the tour will stop in countries such as Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and France.
Shame is formed of lead singer Charlie Steen, guitarist Eddie Green, drummer Charlie Forbes, bassist Josh Finerty, and guitarist Sean Coyle-Smith. The band started whilst the members were still at school, and they released their debut album Songs of Praise in 2018. NME gave the LP five stars, writing: “This is a band with a real sense of showmanship, as those who have witnessed Shame’s sweat-slicked live shows will know. It’s this that makes ‘Songs Of Praise’ utterly invigorating.”
Their second album Drunk Tank Pink was released in January 2021. This month the group released a documentary named Shame – Live in the Flesh. They will also be playing at BBC Radio 6 Music Festival, which will take place on 26th-28th March 2021.
