Smith has had a tough year with the Covid lockdowns, they also recently came out as Non-Binary after struggling with their identity for much of their life. Whilst in lockdown Smith expressed their panic and anxiety about the situation leading to some criticising them as others have nothing whereas they have a house and money. It is important to note that anxiety doesn’t go away if you have money and you can still fear a pandemic.
After delaying the release of the new album for almost 6 months due to the pandemic and also changed the name from To Die For to Love Goes. However, the wait was well worth it as fans now have more Sam Smith to listen to and they can’t get enough.
