Renowned Swedish power-metal quintet Sabaton will release a live DVD and Blu-Ray entitled, ‘Swedish Empire Live’, on the 20th September.
The DVD will feature live footage from the bands show at the 2012 Polish Woodstock Festival, as well as from their live shows at Gothenburg, Oberhausen and London.
Formed in Falun, Sweden in 1999, Sabaton, whose work focuses heavily around the themes of war and historical battle, have become one of the country’s most successful metal acts, with their sixth and most recent album, 2012’s, ‘Carolus Rex’, being certified platinum. The band saw a significant line-up change last year, as guitarists Oskar Montelius and Rikard Sunden, drummer Daniel Mulback and keyboardist Daniel Mhyr all leaving the group for unspecified reasons, leaving vocalist Joakim Brodem and bassist Par Sundstrom the only original members.
The current line-up features Chris Rorland and Thobbe Englund on guitar, with Robban Black on drums. Brodem has taken over on keyboards.
