As far as music news goes for the UK audience, music news doesn’t quite get bigger than this! The legendary manc band Stone Roses are heavily rumoured to be finally working on a third album; with it being 22 years since their last release in 1994 with ‘Second Coming’ you could definitely argue that this new apparent third album, whilst a surprise, is definitely deserved! The only question left will be was it worth the wait?
In late 2015 the Stone Roses announced a new come back tour, see our article on it here. So despite rumours being in the air since 2012 about new material, from when members of the band discussed the idea for new songs, with bassist Mani saying that a new album would be done for 2015:
“Yeah we’ve been working on a few bits. and when quizzed on when it would be released, he said: “2015 man, 2015!”
However sources close to the band have said that the band is very excited about new material:
“Ian Brown and the lads have been busy getting their next album ready. It will be album number three.
“It’s a long time coming, but they feel the time is right now. They’ve been back in the studio. Everyone is very excited about it.”
There are rumours that the band are looking to release new material side by side with their big tour dates this summer. Stone Roses are set to be playing just two massive separate dates in June and July, details can be found below:
