English rock duo Royal Blood have released a new single. Limbo is the third track to come out from their upcoming third album Typhoons, after the titular track and Trouble’s Coming. The LP is due to be released on 30th April 2021.
Limbo has also been announced as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World. Posting on Instagram, the band wrote: “Limbo is officially unleashed! Can’t wait to play this live to you all. Hopefully not long now. X”
Describing the track, the pair tweeted: “Limbo is about being sick and tired of being sick and tired. Being bored of my own behaviour and the psychological crisis of being utterly lost and helpless to the violent storms of self destruction and addiction. It is without a doubt the most ambitious and wildest we have allowed ourselves to be and we can’t wait to invite you this far down the rabbit hole with us. This is it. Don’t get scared now.”
Royal Blood is made up of vocalist and bassist Mike Kerr and drummer Ben Thatcher. They formed in 2011, and released their debut single Out of the Black in 2013. They were nominated for the BBC Sound of 2014, and their self-titled debut album was released that same year. They won the Brit Award for Best British Group the following year. The band’s second LP How Did We Get So Dark? came out in 2017. Both of their previous albums have peaked at number one in the UK Album Charts.
The group are scheduled to give Limbo its first outing at the Bloxy Awards 2021 on Saturday 27th March, where Royal Blood will be performing virtually as avatars.
They said: “We’re thrilled to host Royal Blood as we celebrate the talent of our creators with the greater Roblox community in this immersive, out-of-this-world Metaverse experience.”
