Brighton’s rock duo Royal Blood have shared the video for new single ‘Hook, Line, and Sinker’, ahead of the release of their new album on June 16.
The pair are beginning to gear up for the release of their second LP How Did We Get So Dark, after 2014’s raucously successful eponymous debut.
Earlier this year the band unveiled the album’s lead single ‘Lights Out’ on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show. Coupled with the video for ‘Hook, Line, and Sinker’, Royal Blood also showcased the tracklist for How Did We Get So Dark, and have also announced a UK arena tour, for later on in 2017. You can see the full list of dates below.
The full tracklist reads:
1. How Did We Get So Dark?
2. Lights Out
3. I Only Lie When I Love You
4. She’s Creeping
5. Look Like You Know
6. Where Are You Now?
7. Don’t Tell
8. Hook, Line & Sinker
9. Hole In Your Heart
10. Sleep
In an interview with NME, the duo discussed the sound of the album in depth, tackling the suggestion that certain tracks make the album seem like a ‘break-up album.
“It’s been three years, you know? So I’ve had relationships throughout that period. It’s a subject matter I love writing about. It comes quite naturally to me. I definitely don’t believe in writing about one person in particular or one experience because it kind of ruins it. Talking about lyrics and explaining songs – to me, you sabotage your art.” Frontman Mike Kerr said.
