Rough Trade, which has recently been put on the best vinyl shops list in the UK by Independent, will open all of its record stores on the 12th April. The company that has been on the market for over 40 years, confirmed the news yesterday on social media saying: “We are delighted to announce that Rough Trade East, Rough Trade West, Rough Trade Bristol and Rough Trade Nottingham will re-open their store doors on Monday 12th April 2021”.
We can read a statement on the store’s blog: “Our shop floor teams are excited to be back and open in full force, with hundreds of new releases and recent highlights across music and books to shout about. Expect a new layout to our LP and CD catalogue and plenty of fresh Rough Trade Vintage stock for the crate diggers…” Adding: “A HUGE thank you once again for your continued support and patience over the last few months and we cannot wait to welcome you back in store soon.” All of the Rough Trades will be open from 12th April 10am till 7pm Monday to Saturday and 11am till 5pm on Sundays. The shop also announced two days for Record Store Day Drops on Saturday 12th June and 17th July.
Rough Trade assured compliance with government guidance, providing gloves and hand sanitisers, reducing store capacity and closing out toilets and cafes until further notice. Customers will also be required to wear masks. In the meantime aside from online shopping, the store offers live streaming events that can be booked through the website at great pricing. One of the soonest is The Anchoress – Welsh instrumentalist, with a special guest host Pete Paphides live on 12th March, where the audience will have a rare opportunity to ask questions.
There’s limited number of £5 tickets for the @RoughTrade live Q&A album launch event this Friday with @petepaphides. Come and join us at 7pm on March 12th to celebrate!
