Florida rapper Rick Ross has reportedly returned home after being released from hospital.
According to TMZ, the rapper was discharged on the morning of March 5, after four days in hospital care with “heart-related” problems. The same report also suggests that rather than being fully medically cleared, Ross is ‘receiving care at his residence.’
The rapper was allegedly found in an unresponsive state at his Miami home on the evening of March 1, where he was rushed to hospital. An earlier report from TMZ says that the MC was rushed to a cardiac unit of the hospital once he arrived. There he was alleged to have been placed on a type of life support called ECMO- which stands for Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation, and is used to support a patient whose lungs are not functioning properly.
however, members of Ross’s friends and family have since denied that the rapper was on any form of life support, disputing TMZ’s claim. Fellow rapper Fat Trel took to Instagram to assure fans of Ross’ safety, and to deny that the rapper had required life support. The post read “JUS TALKED 2 MY BIG HOMIE… HE GOOD… HE IN DA HOSPITAL BUT HE IS NOT ON “LIFE SUPPORT” … HE GOOD.”
The hip-hop world naturally sent their best wishes during the period that Ross was in hospital. This isn’t the first time that the 42-year-old MC has faced health concerns. Back in late 2011, Ross suffered two seizures within a few weeks of each other. The first of these took place during a flight between Fort Lauderdale and Memphis, with the plane having to land mid-flight in order to assist the rapper.
