Rachel Agatha Keen, aka RAYE, has released a new track titled “Call On ME’‘. The track, accompanied by a video is a part of the singer’s long-awaited debut album.
A week ago, the pop artist shared on her Instagram: “so if i told you i have a new one, summer vibes, coming out on Friday 11th June“.
The new energetic track is dedicated to Raye’s sister: “she was having a tough day that day and I just wanted her to know how much I love her“.
“I wrote this song on a day when my sister was going through something pretty intense, and I was so heartbroken for her. I basically wrote this song for her. The lyrics say just call my phone when you’re not ok and I’m gonna be there, help you fix everything that is broken and take care of you” – she continues.
You can watch the new video below.
“Call On Me” follows up singers’ previous release “Bed” where she collaborated with DJ Joel Corry and David Guetta. In a recent interview at the 2021 Brit Awards, she talked about the upcoming debut album: “I’ve been signed for a very, very long time – since I was 17. I’m 23 now, so it’s been six years. I’m ready to just drop [an album].”
RAYE explained to NME that she would like to mix music genres in her debut album: “I think this has been the confusing thing about being a songwriter as well an artist, [which] is just figuring out what sound [to use] because I love it all. I love dance music, I love pop, I love R&B, I love hip-hop”.
“Everyone’s been like: ‘Choose a sound, choose a sound Raye. What are you gonna do?’ And I’m like: ‘I don’t know! I like it all, can’t I do it all?’ So now, I’ve kind of reached the theme of my album” – she added.

She will perform at Sundown Festival in Norwich this September. Tickets can be purchased here.
