German metal outfit Rammstein have shared a new song entitled “Zeit”, the title track of their forthcoming new album, which is set to be released on April 29th. Zeit will be Rammstein’s eighth studio album, following on from their 2019 self-titled album. You can take a listen to the epic, slow burning single down below, or on a streaming service of your choice, and the upcoming record can be pre-ordered here.
The exciting new tune has also spawned two remixes: one by Icleandic producer Ólafur Arnolds, and another by German electronic artist Robot Koch. Arnolds’ remix takes the already brooding track and grants it a bittersweet, film-score esque quality, omitting the vocals completely and placing a heavy emphasis on the use of lush, atmospheric strings. Robot Koch’s remix places the vocals at centre stage, and features great synth pads that swirl and howl underneath them, as distant percussion rages on in the background.
According to NME, who attribute the following information to a press release, Rammstein have spent two years working on the eleven songs that comprise their new album, working alongside Berlin-based producer Olsen Involtini. The album was recorded at La Fabrique Studios, located in St. Rémy de Provence, France.
“Zeit” will be released on a plethora of different formats, including a standard digipack CD with a 20-page booklet, a six-panel digipack CD with a 56-page booklet, and a double vinyl LP with a 20-page booklet.

Rammstein presently consists of vocalist Till Lindemann, guitarists Paul Landers and Richard Z. Kruspe, keyboardist Flake (aka Christian Lorenz), bassist Oliver Riedel and drummer Christoph Schneider. The legendary industrial metal outfit were formed in Berlin back in 1994, and remarkably, have kept a consistent line-up throughout their entire career. The band’s first full-length effort Herzeleid was released in 1995, after they had signed with Motor Music. The album was successful indeed, and the following year saw Rammstein perform on the MTV show Hanging Out in the UK.
The band saw even more international success when Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails selected “Rammstein” and “Heirate mich” for his work as a musical director on the 1997 David Lynch film Lost Highway. The band would embark on their very first US tour on the 5th of December 1997 alongside fellow industrial rockers KMFDM. Since their formation, the group have maintained a steady musical output, and have remained a relevant and highly revered cornerstone of heavy music.
