Visual collaborator Stanley Donwood has today confirmed what we all could have guessed; that the new Radiohead record is a ‘work of art’. Expectations for the bands ninth studio album were already sky high, with it being Radiohead and all, however this confirmation will look to continue to increase people’s expectations for the album.
Radiohead are set to have a busy 2016, with their first tour dates since 2012 occurring this spring and summer. Find details on the tour in our article here.
Donwood spoke to DIY discussing Radiohead’s new album, saying that:
“It’s a work of art,”
and that it might not be completed yet:
“not yet entirely finished.”
Stanley Donwood has time and time again worked on Radiohead’s album art, when quizzed on what his favourite album cover is, he said:
“I’ve just had a think about this, and I think it’s the one that no-one’s seen yet. It was made by the strong warm winds of southern France.”
Adding that:
“there’s quite a lot I still have to do,”
The cover for the album has been heavily rumoured over the past few months, with Radiohead any potential news about the album is going to be discussed and gossiped about; whether it’s the album art or whether it’s the track lists! However it does look probable that the album cover is going to be the one tweeted by Radiohead recently, and seen in our last article:

Either way, with a new tour and a new album set to be released this year, expectations couldn’t be any higher for Radiohead, but in the past they have always, time and time again smashed all expectations with their brilliance, we can only hope that we see more of the same this year.
