After a disappearing act from the internet, (see our article from 2 May) rumours suggested we would receive a big announcement – a possible new album release.
As promised we said we would keep you up to date – and that’s exactly what we have: a new album entitled A Moon Shaped Pool.
Radiohead’s ninth album is available for streaming: click here to download. A launch of a physical album will be on 17 June. A special, limited edition release includes two vinyl records, two compact discs, and a thirty-two page book of artwork.
The below track list includes material – previously unreleased on an album – hard-hitting fans will recognise such as ‘True Love Waits’ which has featured in their set lists since 1995:
1. ‘Burn the Witch’
2. ‘Daydreaming’
3. ‘Decks Dark’
4. ‘Desert Island Disk’
5. ‘Ful Stop’
6. ‘Glass Eyes’
7. ‘Identikit’
8. ‘The Numbers’
9. ‘Present Tense’
10. ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor Rich Man Poor Man Beggar Man Thief’
11. ‘True Love Waits’
The album is said to be more melodic and relaxed in comparison with their previous albums such as Kid A. Interestingly titled, ‘Tinker Tailor Sailor Rich Man Beggar Man Thief’ is said to contain powerful bass and vibrating guitars in fitting with pre-Kid A material.
A Moon Shaped Pool is a long-awaited release since King of Limbs in 2011. The first single ‘Burn the Witch’ has already been released – see our article covering this release here. No doubt Radiohead will keep things interesting for the rest of the year. Let’s go back in time and watch the timeless ‘Creep’.
