Brian May recently ruled out why Queen would never play Glastonbury. Due to a clash in opinion on badger culling with Glastonbury’s Michael Eavis, May said, “One of them is that Michael Eavis has frequently insulted me, and I don’t particularly enjoy that. What bothers me more is that he’s in favor of the badger cull, which I regard as a tragedy and an unnecessary crime against wildlife.”
“There’s a little bit of a schism there, I wouldn’t do Glastonbury. Unless things changed radically.”
Michael Eavis had also ruled out the idea of Queen performing at Glastonbury, suggesting that they were “not quite our thing”.
The upcoming tour was directly inspired by the Oscar-winning biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. By mid-April, the biopic had grossed near to $1 billion (£760 million). In box office receipts, it had taken in excess of $900 (£687 million) across the world, according to Variety.
