The upcoming tour spans across eight UK cities, including performances at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town, Glasgow’s SWG3, and Manchester’s O2 Ritz. Beyond the UK, PUP is visiting major European cities, including Amsterdam, Berlin, Madrid, and Paris. The band is well-known for their high-energy live shows, and this tour allows fans from all over to experience their raw and electrifying performances firsthand.
Since forming in 2013, the Toronto-based PUP comprises Stefan Babcock on vocals, Nestor Chumak on bass, Steve Sladkowski on guitar, and Zak Mykula on drums. The band creates high-energy punk rock, and their sound is characterised by raw, emotive lyrics. This was best showcased in their breakout self-titled debut album, with tracks like ‘Reservoir’ and ‘Guilt Trip’ cementing their success in the punk scene.
Fast forward to 2025, PUP has released ‘Paranoid’, their first new track in two years, which demonstrates how far the band has evolved as artists. The track surges with an aggressive rhythm, explosive guitars, and a relentless tempo that mirrors the tension of its themes. Thematically, ‘Paranoid‘ delves into the cyclical nature of overthinking and the constant battle to find clarity amidst mental struggles. The lyrics are humorous yet self-deprecating and honest. Lines like, “I got caught in the teeth of the thoughts that keep me awake,” showcase the vulnerability woven throughout the song, mixed with their signature explosive sound.
PUP’s ability to connect with their audience stems from their authenticity. Their lyrics reflect grappling with mental health, navigating adult life, or simply making fun of themselves, allowing listeners across the globe to relate to at least one of their songs. Their openness, combined with their sense of humour and cathartic energy, has earned them a devoted fanbase and solidified their place as a defining act in modern punk rock.
For fans eager to catch PUP live, the tour promises an unforgettable night of exhilarating energy and freeing anthems. With ‘Paranoid’ setting the tone for what is to come, this tour underscores the band’s dedication to creating music that resonates deeply with fans. Presale tickets go live on January 15, followed by general sale on January 17. This tour, featuring their first new material in years, will give fans the opportunity to immerse themselves in the unfiltered, authentic energy that defines PUP’s music and their unforgettable live performances.
